Locks of Love Challenge
(left) Sunshine Cook, age 30, donated 11 inches of hair and (right) Autumn Siegel, age 14, donated 12 inches of hair, to Locks of Love. Recently two sisters, Sunshine Cook and Autumn Siegel, who are also EfP supporters and daughters of EfP board member Victoria Croasdell, donated their hair to Locks of Love, and challenged other’s to do the same. Sunshine stated, “Visit their website and see the pictures of the kids. Your heart will just go out to them and you’ll want to help!” Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18, suffering from long-term medical hair loss. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses they provide help to restore self-esteem and confidence, enabling these children to face the world and their peers. They accept 10" minimum hair length (tip to tip). They need hair from men and women, young and old, all colors and races. The majority of all hair donated comes from children who wish to help other children.
