EFP: Education For Prosperity

Personal Statement:

I am self-taught in everything I do. I am a vegetarian. My other interests include; meditation, yoga, gardening, herbalism, landscaping, digital graphics, hiking, Japanese anime, diverse cultures, music composition, film making and teaching.  I have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.

I donate time teaching systems of self-help and empowerment, such as yoga, meditation and herbalism.

Being raised with a chastisement for being female, I deliberately secured employment that was at that time traditionally male oriented. I worked in construction; building houses in subdivisions, and in a factory welding tanks. On my own I learned about automotive engine and body repair. I am apprenticing in electrical and mechanical engineering and have invented one humanitarian device so far.

My creativity is an expression of my life experiences. My poetry often reflects the despair, terror, hopelessness, longing, confusion and disgust through which I viewed my childhood and early adult life.  My art usually reflects the fleeting moments of otherworldliness, peace, compassion and hope that I encountered during those same years. I survived initially by retreating into imagination, and later by rooting my mind into an ever-increasing awareness of God.

I was abused, neglected, abandoned, and raised, below poverty level, in remote wilderness areas. Although it was often a despairing existence, extraordinary experiences and awareness’s were impressed upon me in those deep, ancient places.

At 15, I became a mother and shortly thereafter the property of a husband, who battered me. Although I initially sought help from the police, I was told that there was nothing they would do. That was in 1976, prior to the anti spouse abuse laws. I had three children in this marriage, Sunshine, James and Michael. This continued until 1989, when I finally found help, courage and strength to fight for my freedom and obtained a divorce.

In 1991 I married a kind and gentle person, John Siegel. We have two children together Autumn and Aurora.  During the years since then we created our family business “MRISAR”, which we use to help us fund charitable projects, and our own environmental - humanitarian research and development.

I slowly discovered something which John had always insisted on, that no matter what your circumstances are, there is always a way to help yourself and to help others.
